This album is by Stephan F and comes with sixteen different songs. These songs provide a wonderful musical accompaniment to the timeless theme of repentance. The songs are written for four different spiritual gospels. The narrator of The Parable of the Lost Sheep is Stephan F, who gives us a very touching and beautiful account of how he went through an experience of being caught in the midst of a storm. He tells the story from the perspective of Christ, and we feel like he's really speaking to us. He also relates the story of how he felt Christ in his heart and how he, too, felt Christ's presence. It is a beautiful, inspiring, and powerful story. It is one of my favorite segments in the whole music CD.
The Parable of the Lost Coin is almost identical to the opening verse of Stephan F's two-part The Parable of the Lost Sheep. In this part, which is also entitled The Parable of the Lost Coin, we are again introduced to the narrator, Stephan F, who narrates the story of a storm that led him into a wilderness and his eventual awakening in the presence of Christ. The main story is one of the more traditional journeys of man to God. Through this journey, he relates the story of how Christ died on the cross and rose again to become our Redeemer.
In the third part of the album, The Parable of the Lost Son, we find the narrator, Stephan F, describing the ways that we must repent in order to gain God's forgiveness. He speaks of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, and says that no man can save himself. We must take on Christ's death upon ourselves in order to be saved. The Parable of the Lost Son is filled with the story of how Christ gave his life for us.
Lastly, in the fourth section of the album, The Parable of the Lost Wife, we are introduced to another narrator, Stephan F, again. In this section, he tells us of the painful experiences of a wife who has deserted her husband. We are introduced to the woman's sorrows as she tries to find her way in the world, without a husband to help her. In this section, we hear the narrator describe the pain of a marriage, as it is broken, and we can see how the song would help a couple heal their marriage, in time.
Each of these four parts is done in a beautiful, moving and meaningful manner. They are beautifully written, and there is a way that the author describes each story that I found inspiring. I found the voices of the characters to be clear in their understanding of the gospel message.
As I listen to these wonderful songs in these four parts, I am reminded of the simplicity of hope that Stephan F represents. His willingness to believe and follow Christ is so powerful that it lifts me up as I listen to this CD. And I know that the words of the story will bring hope to thousands and will inspire them to follow Christ. To me, that's priceless.
